St Aloysius' College
St Aloysius' College, a Roman Catholic boys' state school in the heart of Islington, is surrounded by green pockets that we’ve been nurturing over time. Our latest project focuses on revamping a woodland area to create a serene haven for students while introducing forest school activities.
Latest Update
October ’25: We’re continuing to improve and care for the grounds at St Aloysius College.
Last spring, the GG Forest Club was a real success. Pupils spent time outdoors, learning about nature, and observing the changes in the forest area. We’ve picked the club back up this autumn, with even more enthusiasm!
In early October ‘25, a fantastic group of 15 students from Highgate School joined us for a volunteering afternoon. Together, they cleared bramble, undergrowth, and ivy, removed a huge amount of plastic waste, spread woodchips, and helped restore one of the garden beds near the pond. The area had suffered from last spring’s unusually dry and sunny weather, but it’s now been refreshed with drought-resistant plants.
